Description

This laboratory test will check the levels of each of 7 elements in your water sample:

pH, Total Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Calcium Hardness, Conductivity, M. Alkalinity and Chloride.

This kit has been designed to help establish if water samples are from the same source (e.g. for leak detection) and is also useful to establish the scaling and corrosive tendencies/properties of water.

Arranging a laboratory analysis is very easy and our service includes everything required to carry out this analysis. Once you have ordered on our website, we will send you a water sample bottle, clear instructions and pre-paid return packaging.

  • Certified laboratory results in 5 easy steps
  • Includes everything required to carry out the test
  • Simply collect the water sample and post it to our accredited laboratory for expert analysis
  • Results available within 10-12 working days after receipt of the water sample
  • Bulk buy discounts available
  • Ideal for home & business use including the sports and leisure industry, private water supplies (bore holes, springs, wells), hotels, care homes, healthcare premises, education sector, farm premises and property management

For leak detection: a minimum of 2 samples is needed for a comparison analysis. We recommend taking a water sample from the leak plus at least one suspected source of the leak – so the test results can be compared to each other. Should you suspect the source of the leak might be sewage, then we recommend the Coliform/ E.coli & Intestinal Streptococci test.

To check the corrosiveness/scaling properties of water: corrosion and scaling can cause major problems with pipes and pipework. Corrosive water can cause the intrusion of metals (ie lead) into water. Scaling is the deposition of minerals etc.

Suitable for:  Potable water analysis as well as fresh water samples, including water from tanks, taps, wells, springs, boreholes, ponds and rain water.

The kit for laboratory analysis contains:

  • Clear step-by-step instructions on how to collect the water sample(s),
  • Sample pots to take water sample(s) of 1000ml each,
  • Pre-paid return packaging,
  • Analysis by an accredited laboratory*.

Each order is shipped with 1x pre-paid return packaging; if you are planning on taking samples at different times/places and returning them separately, then please place separate orders.(*The laboratory has been accredited by UKAS for bacteria analysis of potable as well as water from spa & pool.)How to use: Once you have ordered on our website, we will send you a water sample bottle, clear instructions and postage box to send the sample for laboratory analysis. Results will be sent per Email (to the Email address used to order) within 10-12 working days after the water sample has been received.

  • Courier collection is included within your order. To ensure correct analysis, you should:
    • Take the sample on the same day of the courier collection
    • Keep it cool until courier collection

Expiry: Water sample to be returned within 6 weeks of despatch date (unless otherwise agreed).

Results: You will receive a report with the test result for each element. This report shows the test results in the appropriate measurement, like ppm, mg/l, cfu/100ml etc. For drinking water, these can be compared to the Drinking Water Guidelines set for the UK.

Please note:

  • We require a full water sample to be able to perform the tests. Refunds will not be offered where minimum volume of the sample requirements are not met.
  • Water samples must be taken the same day they are collected (this is vital for accurate analysis). Any results received outside of the specified holding time will receive a comment on the report to state the results could be compromised. Samples can be taken and posted Monday to Thursday. (For customers from outer Hebrides, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and Cornwall: please check in advance to ensure overnight delivery is available in your area, refunds can not be given where services are not available).
  • If you are planning to have more than 1 sample analysed, then all samples need to be taken and shipped to us for analysis at the same time. If you are planning on taking the samples at different times and/or places and returning them separately, then please place separate orders so that we can supply the correct amount of return packaging.
  • Do not mix more than one sample per bottle; please ensure one sample bottle is used per sample outlet.
  • This service is only available for UK customers.
  • Failure to comply with the requirements for sample collection might result in a failed analysis of your water sample. We can not refund orders where instructions have not been followed.
